Computers and Digital Cameras for Schools in Sri Lanka

Can you Help ?

Stop Press

Stroud Rotary has been awarded a Matching Grant from Rotary International and RIBI District 1100 in February 2008.

£10000 (2 million rupees) is now available with £2800 coming from Stroud Club including the legacy from Stroud Rotarian Jim Gough.

It will finance carriage costs (£25 per computer approx) , purchase of robust printers, and uninterruptible power supplies where needed.

We have now sent 100 computers, and 46 of them are already installed and in use.  The Rotary Club of Panadura is working in partnership and installs the computers in the schools and trains the teachers.

How it works

We are  collecting redundant computers locally to provide basic computer equipment for junior schools in Sri Lanka where there are no computers. We will be providing  5 per school.

We also want your old digital cameras, so these can be sent out with the computers to record their use and allow the children to experience digital photography.
